  • Account Information: Name, email address, and profile picture from your OAuth provider (Google, Apple, or Facebook). We do not store passwords.
  • Location Data: Your device's GPS coordinates to match your shopping list with nearby stores. Background location is used only to send proximity-based alerts.
  • Shopping Data: Items you add to your shopping list, custom stores, and maps you create within the App.
  • Scan Logs: Anonymized records of store scans, including coordinates, search queries, and results, used to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide location-based shopping reminders (our core service)
  • To match your items with relevant nearby stores
  • To send push notifications when you are near a store with items on your list
  • To improve our store matching algorithms using anonymized scan data

3. Location Data

Location is central to how B4.U.GO works. Here is exactly what we do with it:

  • What: GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude)
  • Why: To find nearby stores that carry items on your shopping list
  • When: Only when the App is active or when background location alerts are enabled
  • Retention: Scan logs containing location data are automatically anonymized after 90 days
  • Opt-out: Revoke location permission in your device settings at any time

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

  • Google Places API: We send anonymized location queries to Google to find nearby stores. No personal identifiers are shared.
  • Error Tracking (Sentry): Crash reports may include anonymized device and session metadata to help us fix bugs.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active
  • Scan logs: Automatically anonymized after 90 days (userId and query removed)
  • Upon deletion: All personal data is permanently erased within 30 days

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data ("Right to be Forgotten"). Use the "Delete Account" option in your app settings.
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out: Revoke location permissions or disable notifications at any time through device settings

7. Data Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS 1.2+), secure token storage on your device, and OAuth 2.0 authentication. We do not store passwords.

8. Children's Privacy

B4.U.GO is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
